FAQ
1. What do students require for our online maths courses?
Students require:
- An electronic device to access Microsoft Teams (Preferably a desktop/laptop/tablet).
- Access to Microsoft Teams via Microsoft Office. Most school emails will have Microsoft Office as a built in package.
2. Are students required to be on microphone/camera for our online lessons?
No. We understand that some students find the experience of being on camera or speaking online in groups difficult and sometimes distressing so we do not expect students to be on camera or to use their microphones.
Our lessons are designed to feel like a one-to-one lesson for our students so they can focus on their own work. Teachers use anonymous polls via the chat function of Microsoft Teams to gauge how students are faring with the content during the lesson and work through problems step by step to ensure students are confident in their understanding.
3. How often do parents receive updates on their child's progress?
We send out progress reports tracking attendance, homework submission and homework grade improvement every two weeks. This is to allow them adequate time to work through content covered in their own time and complete homework assignments to a good standard.
See our Study Plans for term breakdown for the academic year.
4. How are GradeUp Maths discounts applied?
Discounts are cumulatively applied. For example, if a person was enrolling a child for one our midterm revision courses but they were already enrolled in one of our online grinds courses, they would receive 10% off the initial price of €400, bringing the new price to €360 euro. If they also had a promotional discount e.g. 5%, a further €18 would be taken off, bringing the final price down to €342.
5. Can GradeUp Maths discounts be applied if I am on a monthly payment plan for an online grinds package?
No. Our discounts only apply to our Full Academic Year fees, Half Academic Year fees and In-person Revision course fees.
6. If my child misses lessons either online or for an in-person revision course, can these be refunded?
No. Our online lessons are recorded so any missed lessons can be caught up on in their own time.
Our in-person revision courses have a limited number of places for students so refunds are not possible to be given for missed days.
7. If my child cannot attend an in-person revision course I have booked, can I be refunded?
If your child cannot attend an in-person revision course they are booked in for, contact us at least 14 days before the course commencement date and you will be eligible to be refunded. Due to the limited places on the course, we cannot accommodate refunds for late cancellations outside of this window of prior notice.
8. Do we provide in-person group maths grinds?
We currently do not provide in-person group grinds as a listed service but we may run them throughout the year if demand is sufficient enough. Please get in contact with us to express interest in such a service and we will strive to provide it.
9. Do we provide grinds in other subjects?
Our qualified teachers teach Chemistry, Physics, Science, Business Studies and Economics collectively in addition to teaching Maths. Please get in contact with us to discuss tuition in these subject areas.
